Jan 2019 - Usually have a couple of evening meals at the bar on our yearly motorcycle trip through the area. Popular pub with the waterski crowd who hold a yearly competition and other visitors. Meals quite good but on pricey side. Have nightly discounted specials from menu. This year on Thursday they had the $12 pizza that was exellent.
Bed was so comfy, room was clean.It's a shame we can't review the hotel and restaurants separately.The staff at the Clancy's restaurant (bistro breakfast and dinner) were lovely. Breakfast was really good. The baked trout was soupy which was a bit different.Sadly the staff at the main bar and the Overflow were rude and dismissive, treating us like an inconvenience when we were polite, paying customers, two nights running. When I was called to the counter to collect part of our meal at the Overflow, I was told to "carry it with both hands" (I'm a functioning adult) and then when I asked about the remainder of the order that wasn't with it (because they told me to leave the buzzer at the counter), a staff member pointed to another part of the counter and snidely asked, "do you think that could be it?". I would't know, I don't work there and the meals weren't grouped together- plus, half was plattered for eating in and the remainder was in takeaway boxes (for some reason?).I'm not used to copping sass as a paying, non-troublesome customer. If we ever do visit again, we'll be eating elsewhere unless people clean up their act.
I stayed at the Banjo Paterson hotel in late Dec , 18. Rooms were hot, with no A/C , very old and in need of a good renovation . Toilets and shower are very old and poorly maintained. Paid a fair amount for a twin room ( $ 187 ) and felt ripped off. Will find another venue for my next visit to Jindabyne. Disappointing.........
The staff were friendly and helpful and prompt to serve at the bar. I can highly recommend the pizzas here as well.
Nice pub with a very good location. I recommend seating outside, appreciating the Lake Jindabyne view and enjoying a Kosciuszko beer. To eat I hat the veggie burger with chips and it was delicious.
